Groundnut Shelling Machine and Facility
In November 2025, we fundraised for a groundnut shelling machine in Nabaala Village. We reached our goal for the machine, but we are needing more funding to complete the installation.
The Sisala people of Northern Ghana are well-known throughout the region for their annual crop of groundnuts, known by other cultures as peanuts. In many local markets, Sisala women are the main sellers of this crop and it is a significant revenue source for rural communities.
Once harvested, the groundnuts go through a series of extensive processing steps to arrive at a place of consumption and sale. The women spend hours and days tirelessly shelling, winnowing, and sorting the groundnuts - all by hand.
In our recent village gathering with the Sissala women of Nabaala, they expressed their strong need for a groundnut shelling machine to significantly expedite their processing time and energy.
Through the generous support of community donations, we were able to purchase this groundnut shelling machine and build an enclosed indoor structure for it to be stored and utilized.
We are now at our last steps for this project and need extra funding to complete the final components before the machine can run. Donations will cover the costs of the plastering and flooring for the structure, as well as the installation of the electrical box and connections for the machine to function.
Our goal is $3,000 usd

Zenebu’s Community Garden
Zenebu is a beloved community member and a widow in Nabaala. We are building a community garden by her home to support her and her family.
Zenebu’s home has a significant amount of greywater runoff from her bathing area. We are directing that water into a infiltration basins that will be planted with fruit trees and medicinal plants to feed and nourish the family compound where Zenebu lives with her five children.
Our goal is $1,300 usd
